With much sadness I'm posting to let everyone know that Lita Radford has passed away due to ongoing chronic health complications and spinal degeneration, this Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020. Lita's sanctuary cats are still in need of food and monetary assistance until they are found homes or other sanctuary rescues to give them loving indoor homes. Rest in peace, friend & loving protector of animals.
Paws Rule is a 501c3 non-profit corporation established in the State of North Carolina. We believe that every animal is a gift from God; and, as such, has inherent value, deserving of our respect, care, and love. Our heartfelt philosophy is to protect the welfare of the animals with which we come in contact, promoting the humane treatment and well-being of these animals, providing shelter and medical care, responding with personal commitment, sensitivity, and compassion to their needs. We strongly believe that all animals deserve respect and should be treated with dignity in all circumstances. Our ultimate goal would be to have everyone share this philosophy, creating a kinder, gentler, healthier, safer community for humans and animals alike.
We are a small group with big plans for a shelter or sanctuary of our own if only to be used as a half way house so that we can buy time to get our companion animals to their forever homes. We are also focusing on an affordable Spay/Neuter program for the animals of Sampson County. We have approval but need a venue. If you have a place we can use each Saturday for 2 hours please contact us. Cost of spay/neuter will be ZERO for all who qualify and most will qualify.
We rescue animals from our shelter. We shelter them and find homes for them. We arrange transport and more often provide the transport ourselves. We act as holding places if the animal is going out of state. We vet them when sick and we spay/neuter them if not going to a rescue. We try to find fosters to nurse the sick and we keep the harder to place ones for a lifetime of safety and love.
We are advocates for the shelter animals and also are focusing on establishing a TNR program to eliminate over population and thereby eliminating massive amounts of killing for cats the shelter.
We need your support. We are fully funded with our own resources and
donations from you!
If you have room in your home for just a little while, your decision to be a foster parent will be the difference between life and death for the majority of dogs and cats found on the street or in the shelters. It gives us the opportunity and time to find and place these pets in the perfect home.
No cat or dog deserves to be homeless and unloved. Please contact us if you'd like to become involved in our efforts to give Clinton, NC and surrounding towns the reputation for a people with big hearts and compassion for our own animals.

Please don't forget to go to your local Animal Shelter to adopt. Contrary to what some believe these animals are the most gentle and wonderful pets to have. They have many beautiful animals for adoption and no doubt someone for everyone!
